Arteta Out? Arsenal’s Top Four Hopes in Shambles

Arsenal football club’s woes continue to escalate as another three points slipped through their grip after losing 1-0 to Aston Villa at Villa Park. To put into perspective the Gunners have only collected one point in the past three games as their hopes of a top-four finish seemingly fade away.

The debilitating state that the club is in, has prompted Gunners to put into question the tactics exhibited by Manager Mikel Arteta. Appointed in the top tier club on December, 20,2019, Arteta steered Arsenal into top-level status scooping both the FA Cup and FA community shield in his first season.

Nothing but praises could be heard all around as comparisons to the likes of Ferguson and Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger were made all hailing Arteta to be the right fit for the job.

However, one year later and Arsenal has been on the brink of relegation and currently staring at a top-four finish with despair. Looking at the past two games, the club has been considered to be the better side but in the end, has failed to put the ball behind the net. Who is to blame? the players, coach, the referee, the management? The question seems to be racking Gunners’ minds every time the club concedes goals.

The Gunners are nine points behind the top four and a win in the past two games could have placed them in the number sixth position. But as luck wouldn’t have it, Arsenal is mid-table with 31 points.

Arsenal will face Leeds United in their next game at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, February 14, in a must-win game if the boss is to regain confidence from the fans. But as reality continues to dawn on Arsenal fans, their club might miss both the Europa League and just settle for a top ten finish as their fortunate moment in the sun runs out.

Who do you think is to blame for Arsenal’s woes?
a) Manager Mikel Arteta
b) The players
c) The management
d) The referees
